Shidao New Port was founded in 1998. The first phase of the project was completed in 2002 and three 10000 ton berths were put into operation in July of that year. From 2004 to 2007, the second phase of the project constructed and put into operation seven berths, including three 10000 ton berths and five 5000 ton berths. From 2010 to 2019, the third phase of the project constructed and put into operation seven berths, including two 50000 ton berths, two 20000 ton berths, and three 10000 ton berths.
So far, a total of 18 berths have been built and put into use. Among them, there are two 20000 ton passenger roll on/roll off berths, one 35000 ton passenger roll on/roll off berth, two container berths, and the rest are bulk cargo berths and multi-purpose berths.
The 50000 ton waterway of Shidao New Port is 1600 meters long, with a water depth of 12.8 meters and a harbor basin depth of 12.6 meters.
The coastline of Shidao New Port is 5400 meters. In addition to undertaking production vessels such as roll on/roll off passenger ships, container ships, general cargo, frozen goods, steel, etc., the berth can also take advantage of the production gap period to undertake external ship berthing services such as supplying fuel, fresh water, food, replacing parts, and handover.
