Quanzhou will make its debut in the mid year of Xiamen Third District Comprehensive Bonded Port Area, striving to establish a dedicated port for freight transportation to Taiwan

The integration work of Xiamen Dongdu Port Area, Xiangyu Bonded Zone, and Xiangyu Bonded Logistics Park is being accelerated, and the Xiamen Comprehensive Bonded Port Area, which covers an area of about 3 square kilometers, is striving to be completed by June. It will give Xiamen Port the policy advantage of a bonded port area and better connect with Taiwan's Kaohsiung Free Trade Port.

The relevant person in charge of the Xiamen Xiangyu Bonded Zone Management Committee stated that the Xiamen Comprehensive Bonded Port Area formed after the integration of the three zones has a coastline of about 3 kilometers and a bonded port area of 3 square kilometers in the Dongdu Port area.

According to the transformation model of bonded zones proposed by the General Administration of Customs, this unique area will develop into a comprehensive bonded zone with high logistics concentration on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait. The target plan is to unify the area by utilizing the three major customs checkpoints already built in the Dongdu Port area, making the three areas a closed area with effective customs supervision; Unified policy: Implement customs, taxation, foreign exchange, trade, and industrial policies in accordance with the standards of the bonded port area; Unified function: endowing bonded processing, bonded logistics, port clearance and other bonded port area functions; Unified supervision: Supervised by a customs in accordance with the relevant management measures and operating procedures of the bonded port area.

Real linkage with ports and airports

At present, all non bonded container storage businesses within the zone have been relocated to the second phase of the bonded zone. As an important supporting project for the integration of the three districts, the Dongdu Port Area centralized inspection center covers an area of about 30000 square meters and is currently under construction. It will be completed and delivered for use by the end of June this year as planned. In addition, the Xiamen International Logistics Center, with an investment of 800 million yuan and an area of 150000 square meters, started construction in May last year and will be put into use in 2009. At that time, the joint inspection units of various ports in Dongdu Port and the institutions stationed in the park will be co located, and logistics supporting industries such as finance, insurance, freight forwarding, shipping agents, and customs brokers will also be collectively stationed, providing enterprises with "one-stop" convenient customs clearance services.

Last year, Xiangyu pioneered the "picking up goods and entering the area based on the manifest" model in the national bonded logistics park. The park became the designated place for manifest transportation, and the customs in the park had the authority to modify the manifest. After the goods were counted and stored, they were declared. The "Comprehensive Bonded Port Area" was truly linked with the port and airport, paving the way for the park to carry out unpacking, consolidation, international transit, international distribution and other businesses
