On July 31, 2007, CKYH Alliance (COSCO, Kawasaki, Yangming, Hanjin) opened its second new route of the month, AES2, in Yantian, following the global route MAP (which docked at Yantian on July 19).
This new route is an Asia Europe route, which calls at ports in Yantian, Singapore, and Japan in Asia. It can reach Western European ports such as Rotterdam and Felixstowe in a relatively short period of time and has certain competitiveness in the market. The 8 container ships with a load capacity of 5610 TEUs operating on this route are all provided by Kawasaki Steamship in Japan.
The AES2 route calls at Yantian every Saturday, with the port sequence being Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Le Havre, Port Said, Singapore, Yantian, Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
At present, Yantian International has 83 weekly air routes, 37 routes in the Americas, and 31 routes in Europe. The dense air routes will provide better services for the hinterland of South China's cargo sources.
